5 Good Daily Habits

When your alarm goes off, get up, don’t snooze

I’ve actually had a persistent problem with this myself actually, and I still do to this day on occasions, but I’m determined to ensure I rectify this for 2019 and beyond. If you’re snoozing, you haven’t got enough sleep from the night before. Also, I’ll be realistic that an occasional exception would be a very cold winter’s morning.

Eat breakfast

There was a time I wasn’t eating breakfast and I didn’t realise at the time how much it affected me. There’s a reason why people say it’s the most important meal of the day. It’s because it’s your fuel to start the day and stimulates your brain. And when you do skip it, there’s a tendency to over eat with your other meals too. So, even if you are running a fine line with time, consume something, even if it’s a protein shake. Just something to have in your body. For those performing intermittent fasting, this advice is obviously redundant, but I’m sure you’re already monitoring what you’re consuming during those eight hours.

Have a to do list

This will provide you direction for the day. It allows you to be aware of what needs to be completed on a career and personal front. Sticking to the to do list will also ensure your day is productive and avoid laying in bed and saying you’ve done nothing today. Being productive simply puts you in a positive mindset too.

Use an expense tracking app

People say money isn’t the most important thing in the world, and I partially agree with that. However, money is a vital contributor that funds your life. So, it’s important to stay on top of your incomings and outgoings. By using an expense tracking app, it will help you visualise your expenditure and aid your ability to manage your finances better. I’ve been using ‘Expenses’ everyday for over four years now, it’s easy to use and I highly recommend downloading it.

Pack your bag the night before

You don’t want to be running around and stressing out at the start of the day, so, organise what you need to bring to work or university etc for the next day. This will save you time in the morning and also ensures you have time to eat breakfast. Take it up an extra notch by preparing your outfit for tomorrow as well.
